Voicemail dropYour best voicemail, every time, in one click.
Part of the TalkerIQ AI dialer. Record the message once. When a call reaches a greeting, click Drop and it plays into the mailbox while you're already on the next call. Every lead hears your best version — and nobody spends their afternoon saying it.

What is voicemail drop?
Voicemail drop is a dialer feature that plays a message a rep recorded in advance into a voicemail box, instead of the rep speaking it live. On TalkerIQ the rep clicks Drop when a call reaches a greeting, the dialer moves straight to the next contact, and the call is logged as "left voicemail" with an optional follow-up text.

Sound familiar?
Half my calls go to voicemail. By the twentieth message I'm not sounding like someone you'd call back.
Voicemail isn't a dead end — it's often the first impression. The problem is time and consistency: leaving a good message live takes a minute, and the twentieth one never sounds like the first.
A minute lost on every greeting
Wait for the beep, say the message, hang up. Multiply by every unanswered call in a day.
The message drifts
Rushed, missing the callback number, or skipped entirely when the rep is tired.
Every rep says something different
No two messages match your current offer, and new reps make it up as they go.
Nobody knows who got a message
Without a logged outcome, the follow-up either doubles up or never happens.
How it works
Record once, drop all day: how does voicemail drop work?
What happens when a dialer call hits voicemail on TalkerIQ.
Record your messages
Reps record short voicemails in the browser — a first touch, a follow-up, a reminder.
Your rep · onceThe call hits a greeting
Working the list on the power dialer, the rep hears a voicemail greeting start.
AutomaticClick Drop
The chosen message plays into the mailbox.
Your rep · 1 clickAlready on the next call
The rep leaves the line straight away and the next contact dials.
AutomaticLogged and followed up

AI + automation
In the session
A button in the dialer, not another tool.
Voicemail drop sits next to hold, call transfer and call disposition codes in the power dialer, so it's always one click away. The rep stays in flow: hear the greeting, drop the message, talk to the next person.

Follow up
A voicemail, then a text: why send both?
Plenty of people won't call back but will answer a text. Pair the voicemail with a follow-up text from the same business number, and let the AI SMS agent handle replies — or let smart call retries try again when they're more likely to pick up.

Compare
Voicemail drop vs ringless voicemail vs leaving it live: what's the difference?
Voicemail drop is often confused with ringless voicemail. They work differently, and are treated differently under US calling rules.
| Leaving it live | Voicemail drop (TalkerIQ) | Ringless voicemail | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it works | Rep waits for the beep and speaks | Rep clicks once; a recording plays on a normal call | Message placed in the mailbox without the phone ringing |
| Rep time per voicemail | Wait plus the whole message | One click, then the next call | None |
| Consistency | Varies by rep and hour | Same best message every time | Same message |
| Rules to check (US) | Standard calling rules | Pre-recorded message rules on sales calls | Treated as a call by the FCC; consent rules apply |
| Logged as an outcome | If the rep remembers | Automatically | Depends on the vendor |

A rep's afternoon
What does an afternoon with voicemail drop look like?
An SDR working demo requests from a software company's website. Names are illustrative.
- Jess records two messages
A 20-second first-touch message and a follow-up for leads who already had a demo, both recorded once in the browser.
- Power-dial starts
Jess opens the demo-request list. The first contact is called from a local presence number.
- Greeting answers
The lead's voicemail picks up. Jess clicks Drop on the first-touch message and is already hearing the next call ring.
- A text follows
The flow sends a text from the same number with a booking link. The lead replies an hour later and the AI SMS agent books the demo.
- Every voicemail is logged
Each "left voicemail" outcome is on the contact and in HubSpot, so tomorrow's retries skip anyone who already booked.

What is the difference between voicemail drop and ringless voicemail?
Voicemail drop happens during a normal call: the phone rings, the call reaches voicemail, and the rep plays a pre-recorded message into it. Ringless voicemail tries to place a message in a mailbox without the phone ringing at all, which is treated differently under US calling rules. TalkerIQ voicemail drop works on regular dialer calls.
Do I have to stay on the line while the message plays?
No. Once the rep clicks Drop, the message plays on its own and the dialer moves on to the next contact.
Can each rep record their own voicemail?
Yes. Messages are recorded by the rep, so the voice the lead hears matches the person who will call them back.
Is the voicemail logged in my CRM?
Yes. The call is logged with a "left voicemail" outcome on the contact in TalkerIQ and synced to connected CRMs such as HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, Pipedrive and Zoho.
Are pre-recorded voicemails allowed?
Rules depend on where and why you are calling. In the US, pre-recorded messages on sales calls are covered by the TCPA and generally require prior consent. TalkerIQ gives you the tools and enforces your DNC list, opt-outs and calling windows; you remain responsible for consent and the rules that apply to your calls.
What makes a good voicemail drop message?
A good voicemail drop message is short and specific: who is calling and from which company, why it matters to the listener, one clear next step, and the callback number said slowly. Record a separate message for each list or stage, so a first touch and a follow-up never sound the same.
Can I use voicemail drop outside the power dialer?
Yes. TalkerIQ voicemail drop is built into the power dialer and the browser softphone, so reps can drop a recorded message on manual calls as well as dialer sessions. Each drop is logged as "left voicemail" on the contact.
Should I send a text after leaving a voicemail?
Often, yes. Many people who never return a voicemail will reply to a text. On TalkerIQ a voicemail drop can trigger a follow-up text from the same business number, and a reply pauses further calls automatically. Texts to US numbers need consent and 10DLC registration.
