Call disposition codesKnow how every call ended — and make the next step automatic.

Part of the TalkerIQ AI dialer. One shared list of outcomes for every rep and every AI agent. Pick one after a call and the follow-up runs itself: a callback at the time they asked for, a confirmation text, a CRM update, or a number that's never dialed again.

Same outcomes for humans and AI Synced to your CRM Clean reporting

What are call dispositions?

Call dispositions are short codes that record how a call ended, such as meeting booked, callback requested, left voicemail or do not call. On TalkerIQ reps pick one in a click, AI agents set their own from the conversation, and each code can trigger the next step: a callback, a text, a CRM update or removal from future lists.

Sound familiar?

Our CRM says "called" two thousand times. I have no idea how many of those were actual conversations.

If every rep logs outcomes their own way — or not at all — you can't tell which lists work, which reps need help, or who's still waiting for a callback.

  • Free-text notes nobody can report on

"Spoke w/ Dana, call back next wk?" — useful to one rep, useless to a dashboard.

  • Callbacks promised, then forgotten

The lead said "Thursday at 3". Nothing reminded anyone, so nobody called.

  • "Do not call" that gets called again

An opt-out logged in one place doesn't stop the next campaign — or the text that follows.

  • AI and human calls logged differently

When AI agents report outcomes in their own format, you can't compare or combine them.

How it works

From "how did it go?" to what happens next: how do call dispositions work?

The life of a call outcome on TalkerIQ.

  1. Set your outcomes

Start with common dispositions and tags, then edit them to match your sales or service process.

    Your team · once
  2. Rep picks one

At the end of each dialer call the rep chooses an outcome and, if needed, a callback time or a note.

    Your rep · 1 click
  3. AI tags its own calls

AI agents set the outcome from the conversation — interested, callback requested, wrong number — with sentiment and a summary.

    AI agent
  4. The follow-up runs

Callback tasks, confirmation texts, CRM stage changes, retries or DNC — whatever that outcome is set to do.

    Automatic
  5. Reports stay honest

Outcomes roll up by campaign, list and rep, and any outcome can become the list for a new campaign.

    Automatic

Automate

Each outcome knows what to do next.

A call disposition isn't just a label. "Callback requested" puts the lead back in the rep's queue at the agreed time; "Left voicemail" sends a follow-up text; "Do not call" closes the contact out of calls and texts for good. Reps click once — the system does the admin.

  • Callback scheduling in the lead's time zone
  • Follow-up texts, retries and flow branches per outcome
  • Do-Not-Call applied across calls and SMS instantly

AI calls too

One outcome list for people and AI: do AI agents log dispositions too?

Yes. After every AI outbound call or AI voice agent call, post-call analysis sets the outcome tag, sentiment and a short summary — using the same outcome list as your team. So a "callback requested" from an AI call and one from a rep land in the same report, the same queue and the same CRM field.

  • Outcome tags like interested, callback requested or wrong number
  • Sentiment — positive, neutral or negative — on every call
  • AI summary with next steps, logged to the contact

Measure

Turn outcomes into your next campaign.

Because outcomes are consistent, analytics mean something: how calls ended across a campaign, by rep and by list. Filter to "callback requested" or "interested, not booked" and start a new campaign from that exact list in one click.

  • Outcome distribution per campaign and rep
  • Filterable call logs with recordings and transcripts
  • New campaign from a filter, list included

Reviewed by the TalkerIQ product team · Updated

What is the difference between a disposition and a tag?

A disposition is the single outcome of a call — how it ended, such as meeting booked or not interested. Tags add extra labels a call can have several of, such as a product interest or objection. TalkerIQ uses both so reports stay simple and calls stay searchable.

What call dispositions should I use?

Keep the list short and action-based: meeting booked, callback requested, interested, not interested, left voicemail, no answer, wrong number and do not call cover most teams. Each one should map to a clear next step.

Do AI agents set dispositions?

Yes. After each AI call, post-call analysis sets an outcome tag, sentiment and summary from the conversation, so AI and human calls can be reported together.

Can a disposition trigger an action?

Yes. Outcomes can schedule a callback, send a follow-up text, move a lead down a different branch of a campaign flow, update your CRM or add the number to your Do-Not-Call list.

Are dispositions synced to my CRM?

Yes. Outcomes, notes, recordings and AI summaries are written back to connected CRMs including HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, Pipedrive and Zoho. See CRM integrations.

What is a wrap-up code in a call center?

A wrap-up code is another name for a call disposition: the code an agent selects after a call to record how it ended. In TalkerIQ, wrap-up codes are shared by reps and AI agents, take one click to set, and can trigger callbacks, texts and CRM updates.

How many call disposition codes should a team have?

Few enough that a rep can pick the right one in a second. Most teams do well with a short list of action-based codes, like the reference table above, plus optional tags for detail such as product interest or objection. Long lists lead to inconsistent choices and unreliable reports.

Can I report on call dispositions by rep and campaign?

Yes. TalkerIQ campaign analytics break down call disposition codes by campaign, list, rep and AI agent, with filterable call logs, recordings and transcripts. Any outcome can become the contact list for a new campaign in one click.
