AI voice and SMS agentsAI that picks up when your team can't — and hands back when it should.

TalkerIQ's AI voice agents and AI SMS agents live inside your phone system, not beside it. They answer the after-hours call, the lunchtime rush and the fifth caller in the queue, then book, answer, take details or pass the caller to the right person with the whole story attached.

What can an AI phone agent do?

An AI phone agent answers and makes calls in a natural voice, understands what callers say, and acts on it: answering questions, booking appointments, taking details and transferring to a person. TalkerIQ AI voice and SMS agents do this on your existing numbers, from your own knowledge base, and log every conversation to your CRM.

Sound familiar?

We tried a chatbot once. It answered, sure — but it didn't know our business, couldn't book anything, and our team never saw what it said.

The problem isn't that teams don't want AI. It's that most AI sits outside the phone system: a separate number, a separate inbox, a separate set of notes nobody reads.

  • The calls you miss are the ones that matter

Evenings, weekends, the lunch rush, the moment three people call at once. Voicemail catches some of them; most just hang up and call someone else.

  • Bots that can only say "please hold"

A phone tree or a scripted bot can't answer a real question, check a calendar, or tell an urgent caller from a routine one.

  • Handoffs that start from zero

When an automated system does pass a caller on, your team picks up cold and asks for the name, the account and the problem all over again.

  • Conversations that leave no trace

If the AI isn't on your phone system, its calls don't show up in your call history, reports or CRM — so nobody learns from them.

How it works

One conversation, from hello to the next step: how does an AI agent handle a call?

TalkerIQ is a cloud phone system for business with AI voice and SMS agents built in. Here's what happens when an AI agent takes a call — and where your team comes in.

  1. You decide when AI answers

Every call, after hours only, when the queue backs up, or on one number. AI is a step in your call routing, not a separate line.

    Your team · setup
  2. It answers like it works there

A natural voice you choose (or your own), in the caller's language, trained on your website, documents and FAQs.

    AI agent
  3. It gets the job done

Answers questions, qualifies, books into your calendar, takes a detailed message, or texts a link — while the caller is still on the line.

    AI agent
  4. It knows when to hand off

Urgent, complex or high-value callers are warm-transferred to the right person, who sees who's calling and why before saying hello.

    AI + your team
  5. Everything is written down

Recording, transcript, summary, sentiment, outcome and the fields you care about, logged to the contact and your CRM.

    Automatic

Answer

Every call picked up, even the ones at 9 PM.

An AI voice agent answers your business number in about a second, 24/7. It handles the routine calls end to end — opening hours, pricing, bookings, order status — and on the website, the same agent talks to visitors through a website voice widget, no phone needed.

  • Inbound AI voice agents on any TalkerIQ number, at any hour
  • AI receptionist that greets, books, routes and takes messages
  • Website voice widget — one script tag puts the agent on your site

Know

It answers from your business, not the internet.

Point the agent at your website, upload your policies and price lists, or write the answers yourself — that becomes its AI agent knowledge base. It answers from that knowledge, in a voice that suits your brand (or your own cloned voice) and in the language your caller speaks, thanks to multilingual AI phone agents.

  • Knowledge base from web pages, PDFs, Word docs and written notes
  • 40+ natural voices across accents, ages and genders — or clone your own
  • 12+ languages from one agent and one number

Book

Appointments booked before they hang up.

The agent checks your real calendar, offers only times that are actually free, books the slot with the caller's details, and texts a confirmation. Rescheduling and cancellations work the same way.

  • Live availability across one calendar or the whole team's
  • Confirmations and reminders by text and email
  • Google Calendar, with Outlook and Calendly for web calls

Follow up

Every conversation ends with clean notes.

When the call ends, TalkerIQ writes the summary, lists next steps, scores sentiment, tags the outcome and fills the fields you've defined — budget, timeline, decision maker — then syncs it all to your CRM.

  • AI call summaries with next steps and owners
  • Post-call analysis: sentiment, outcome and custom field extraction
  • CRM sync to HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, Zoho and more

A day at a clinic

What does a day with AI on the phones look like?

A three-dentist practice with one front-desk coordinator. Names are illustrative.

  1. Before the office opens

A patient calls about a cracked tooth. The AI receptionist checks the calendar, books the 9:15 emergency slot and texts a confirmation.

  2. Three calls at once

Mia at the front desk is checking a patient in. Overflow rings through to the AI, which answers insurance questions from the clinic's policy documents.

  3. A Spanish-speaking caller

The same agent switches to Spanish, reschedules a cleaning and notes the preferred language on the contact.

  4. An upset caller

A patient disputes a bill. The AI recognises the issue needs a person and warm-transfers to the office manager with a summary on screen.

  5. After hours

Callers asking for a new-patient visit are booked straight into tomorrow; one urgent case is routed to the on-call number.

  6. Next morning

Mia reads the overnight summaries in TalkerIQ instead of listening to voicemails. See medical office phone systems.

People and AI, one phone system

AI handles the first touch, your team the moments that matter: when should an AI agent hand off to a human?

Hand off when the caller asks for a person, when the issue is urgent, emotional or high value, or when the answer isn't in the knowledge base. TalkerIQ uses a warm transfer through the same call transfer your team already uses, so the person picking up sees the summary first.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before letting AI answer the phone

Still unsure? Talk to our team.

Reviewed by the TalkerIQ product team · Updated

Is TalkerIQ an AI chatbot or a phone system?

Both, in one product. TalkerIQ is a cloud phone system — numbers, routing, softphone, texting and dialers — with AI voice and SMS agents built in. The AI answers on your existing numbers as part of your call routing, so its calls appear in the same history, reports and CRM as your team's.

Can I choose when the AI answers and when my team does?

Yes. AI can answer every call, only after hours, only when a queue is busy or nobody picks up, or only on specific numbers. You can change those rules any time without changing numbers.

What happens when a caller needs a real person?

The AI warm-transfers the caller to the right person or team and passes the name, reason for calling and key details along, so your team never starts from zero. You define what counts as urgent or high value.

How does the AI know about my business?

You give it a knowledge base: your website pages, uploaded files such as PDFs and Word documents, and notes you write yourself. You can test its answers in a playground before it takes live calls.

Do callers know they are speaking to AI?

You choose how the agent introduces itself. Many businesses have it say it is an AI assistant up front. Either way, the voices are natural and the agent can hand off to a person at any point.

What does it cost?

Starter ($39 per user per month) includes a 20-minute AI trial; on Growth ($79) 30 AI minutes per user are included, then $0.25 per minute, and Pro ($149) includes 100 AI minutes per user. Annual billing saves up to 25%, and AI minutes are $0.25, as low as $0.20 with volume. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.

Can the AI reply to text messages too?

Yes. The TalkerIQ AI SMS agent answers texts to your business number in natural language, books and reschedules, and hands the thread to a person in the shared team inbox when needed. AI SMS conversations are available on the Pro plan.

Will an AI agent replace my receptionist or support team?

In most businesses, no. AI voice and SMS agents take the routine, repetitive and after-hours conversations, which frees your team for the calls that need judgment and empathy. You decide exactly which calls the AI handles and when it hands off.
